Shannon Kemp is a Senior Human Resources Professional II within the Office of the Associate Provost and Associate Vice President for Faculty and Academic Staff Affairs (FASA). Shannon works closely with the FASA Directors and Human Resources Academic Operations team on the faculty and academic staff hiring/posting process, policy questions, improvements, and approvals. She assists the FASA Directors in managing behavior and OIE case notifications and updates, the case management system, and any related reporting. She also collaborates with unit staff, HR unit leads, and faculty academic staff to provide expert advice and information on a variety of faculty and academic staff hiring, posting, policy, and related matters. 

Shannon has worked at MSU since 2008, first in an academic unit (Pharmacology and Toxicology) doing human resources and finance-related work, and then moving on to roles in Human Resources from 2011 to 2020, where she worked with various HR processes. She has been with the FASA team since December 2020. Shannon holds an Associate Degree in Child Development and has 13+ years’ experience in human resources.

Outside of work, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying time outside hiking, boating, riding quads and snowmobiles, and traveling.
