The National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) offers live and recorded webinars, courses, and workshops covering many topics that pertain to different stages of academic careers. MSU’s Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation provides a spectrum of support for MSU's educators to conceptualize learning, teaching, and programmatic opportunities and develop solutions. Instructors and educators may receive support and consultation, professional development opportunities, learning experience design collaborations, and support for online and blended programs.
The #iteachmsu Commons provides an educator-driven space for sharing ideas and resources, connecting across disciplines and roles, and growing in practice. There is a huge community of educators who contribute to teaching, learning, and student success across MSU. It’s important to us to draw your attention to this expansion of the definition of “educator” because while #iteachmsu educators certainly include in-class instructors it is intentionally much broader to also include roles such as TAs, ULAs, instructional designers, academic advisors, librarians, coaches, etc.
MSU provides a wide variety of professional development experiences in support of all MSU graduate teaching assistants (GTAs). This effort is particularly crucial because it is the graduate teaching assistants at Michigan State that often provide undergraduate students with their first exposure to core courses in a wide variety of disciplines. As such, graduate teaching assistants play a vital role in Michigan State University’s efforts to ensure academic success among the institution’s undergraduate population.

The MSU Ethics Institute will advance innovative research, pedagogy, and thought leadership in ethics. The Institute will coordinate university-wide educational and research initiatives to amplify the strengths of existing applied ethics centers and foster the growth of new centers on campus. The Institute is designed to support the growth of existing initiatives and foster the development of new college-level or discipline-based endeavors.
IDI's educational opportunities allow people to explore the complex issues around diversity, equity and inclusion through dialogue and sharing experiences. We share the conviction that our difference is our strength. We also build the capacity of individuals to address and advance diversity, equity and inclusion issues in the workplace and in and outside the classroom. Building Inclusive Communities is an initiative to promote inclusion, respect and accountability to be different together. The materials provide tools and resources to address conflict and name forms of oppression. They are designed to be easily printable on office printers and are available to the MSU campus community to post inside buildings or distribute at events.

WorkLife Wellbeing supports university faculty and staff in balancing the demands of work, personal commitments and family life through presentations, consultations, support groups, and professional development. WorkLife Wellbeing partners with the community to create an inclusive, responsive work environment where all faculty and staff are respected and supported in cultivating well-being in their work and personal lives.
Health4U is focused on helping the MSU community explore the fundamentals of a health-promoting lifestyle. The program provides access to high quality, evidence-informed, and culturally conscious health education and support.
