Updates in 2025 include:
MSU has adopted a unified Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Commitment Identification and Disclosure Policy (BOT 414), effective Oct. 1, 2025. This new policy replaces the Outside Work for Pay and Conflicts of Interest, Faculty/Academic Staff policies, streamlining expectations and procedures for faculty and academic staff.
The updated policy aligns MSU with evolving federal requirements, including NSPM-33 and the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, which emphasize transparency and research security. It supports faculty engagement in external activities while ensuring institutional integrity and compliance.
