Kate is contract administrator for GEU and the FASA Director for the College of Social Science, Faculty Excellence Advocates, the Graduate School, James Madison College, Lyman Briggs College, and the Residential College in Arts and Humanities. She is the communications lead for FASA.
Kate began at MSU in 2009 as a doctoral student and earned her Ph.D. in 2014. Prior to joining the FASA team, she was a teaching professor in the College of Arts and Letters for over a decade and president of UNTF. In her pre-grad-school days, she was a manager of both people and projects, and she values collaborating across colleges, unions, and units to help make MSU a workplace of choice and a national leader in faculty, academic staff, and student success. Her core values are creativity and justice, and she can often be found doing research, analyzing data, and solving problems.
Outside of work, Kate is a musician and audio engineer. She enjoys spending time with family and pets, watching British mysteries, and being a pop culture nerd.
