Assistant Provost for Faculty and Academic Staff Affairs
Kara Yermak is an Assistant Provost of Faculty and Academic Staff Affairs (FASA). Kara collaborates with faculty, academic staff, and leaders across the University to provide strategic, expert advice, information, and analysis on a variety of faculty affairs matters. She works closely with academic governance (e.g., the University Committee on Faculty Affairs) on policy issues relating to faculty and academic staff and is leading the review of all faculty and academic staff policies to enable and empower an environment of success for MSU’s faculty and academic staff through faculty affairs policies.
Kara has worked in higher education since 2005, beginning in research compliance and faculty affairs since 2007. Her experience includes work with the Department of Teacher Education and in Human Resources. Kara holds a master's degree in Human Resources and Labor Relations (MHRLR), is a certified Senior Certified Professional (SCP) through the Society for Human Resources (SHRM) and is an alumna of Michigan State University’s department of psychology.
Outside of work, Kara enjoys spending time with her family and pets, making crafts, and advocating for individuals with disabilities.
